Chennai, India, Endures Life-Threatening Flooding as Rainfall Totals are Expected to Top 380 mm
The threat for flooding will continue in southern India into Wednesday.
On the heels of a tropical low that produced flooding in parts of southern India last week, another powerful tropical has renewed flooding and caused widespread disruption across the region.
Due to interaction with India, development into a named tropical system is not expected, though regardless of development, heavy rain is expected to produce additional flooding in southeastern India, particularly areas within 85 km (50 miles) of the coast.
