A threat for severe thunderstorms continues as a potent storm system pushes east after leaving heavy snowfall over the mountains of the West. Wind and hail damage were reported in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, and the threat for strong storms will continue into Friday.

The chance of a few strong to isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and perhaps a brief tornado will continue through Friday from the Lower Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley.
