Classic November Storm Brings Blizzard Conditions to the High Plains; Snow to the West
While snowfall amounts on the Plains were modest, strong winds gusting over 40 mph from an intensifying area of low pressure combined with the snow to produce low visibility and dangerous travel conditions. Roads were closed in parts of Colorado and Wyoming at times on Wednesday.
On Wednesday morning, snow totals over 8 inches were reported in the Denver metro area, with 8.1 inches in Northglenn and 8.3 inches in Centennial. The Denver International Airport officially measured 2.3 inches of snow with wind gusts topping 30 mph.
